| 2009-09-21 Canadians Join Sri Lanka and Pakistan First Class Seasons |
Canada begins the buildup to the 2011 Cricket World Cup by participating in the Asian domestic season starting this week.
Captain Ashish Bagai will join current Sri Lankan national players Mahela Jayawardene, Tharanga Paranavita and Thilan Samaraweera at Sinahlese Sports Club. One of Sri Lankan's top clubs, SSC is coached by former Sri Lankan opening batsman Avishka Gunawardene. Joining Bagai in Sri lanka will be Harvir Baidwan. The Canadian allrounder will play at Colts Cricket Club under the captaincy of Chaminda Vaas and the coaching of former Sri Lankan opening batsman Romesh Kaluwitharna. Cheap Flagyl buy online here! After a standout 2009, Khurram Chohan will participate in the Pakistan Cricket Board's Fast Bowling clinic in Lahore before joining his former club in Lahore to complete the season.
This marks the start of a busy offseason for Canadian players as several more will depart for matches and training in Asia as well as ICC HP training camps in Dubai over the winter. The entire team will convene in January before the T20 Cricket World Cup Qualification Tournament in Dubai February 9-13th.
